  • ¹Earth discovers that Mars is inhabited.
  • Discovery of LIFTWOOD on Mars revolutionizes FLIGHT.
  • Franco-Prussian War between France and Germany begins.

Their successful use by Custer prompts the US Gov't to look into further military uses. Both US Army and Navy start lobbying for control of US Aerial Flyer forces.
